Wookieepedia is the primary Wikia Star Wars Wiki. Created by Chard Barbry and Steven Greenwood in 2005, it has striven to be the number one source of Star Wars information online. Information found on Wookieepedia includes facts from the films an expanded universe, as well as information that has been deemed valuable to the Star Wars fandom. The Wiki was based on Wikipedia, but can go into more depth regarding Star Wars information with more freedom than Wikipedia, which was a catalyst in Wookieepedia's creation. Wookieepedia has consistently maintained that it is not a primary source or a replacement for the Official Star Wars Databank. Instead, it is meant to be a collaborative fan effort to document all aspects of the Star Wars franchise in the most effective way possible while directing the reader to respective official sources.^[1]
