Simon Pegg is well known in geek fandom for his great love of Star Wars, Star Trek, and other fan-favorites. He's also been outspoken in his criticism of the Star Wars prequel trilogy, including in the television series Spaced. Over the last year, he's taken to talking about how his friend J.J. Abrams, the director of Star Wars Episode VII, is a great choice to re-energize the franchise. Watch this video of Pegg below to hear more:
Pegg has famously played Montgomery "Scotty" Scott, chief engineer of the starship Enterprise, in Star Trek and Star Trek Into Darkness, both of which were directed by Abrams. There are also rumors that he will have a role in Episode VII.
