This weekend, at WonderCon, Lucasfilm shared a sneak preview of the upcoming animated series Star Wars Rebels, set five years before Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope, which included an appearance from Rebels (and Star Wars: The Clone Wars) composer Kevin Kiner. As part of Kiner's appearance, theme music from Rebels was played for the audience. It has now been posted online, courtesy of Rebels Report. Listen to it below:

The music sounds like it's straight out of the original trilogy. Parts sound like the Rebel Alliance theme from Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi, while you can also hear the binary sunset theme from A New Hope. The influence of John Williams is strong in this theme, which Kiner said was deliberate. Unlike The Clone Wars, where George Lucas requested that the show avoid classic themes in favor of new ones, the Rebels crew is fully embracing the original trilogy roots now that the show is set in that era.

What do you think of the theme? Let us know in the comments below!
