Grant Imahara was an ILM modeler and animatronics technician that controlled R2-D2's movements in Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace, Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones, and Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith. He had a cameo in the mockumentary, R2-D2: Beneath the Dome and was an actor and writer of the TFN Fan Film Architects of Evil.
He is also known as the creator of the Battlebot Deadblow and is a cast member on the Discovery Channel's Mythbusters.
He currently resides in Oakland, California.
The in-universe company Imaharatronics is named for him.
