Robert "Bob" Iger is the current chairman and chief executive officer of The Walt Disney Company. As CEO, one of Iger's major accomplishments and likely legacies is the acquisition of a number of successful companies, beginning with Pixar Animation Studios in 2006 and followed by Marvel Entertainment in 2009. In 2012, it was announced that Disney had acquired Lucasfilm over $4 billion and would be producing new Star Wars films, beginning with Star Wars Episode VII on December 18, 2015.[1] Iger has been credited for convincing George Lucas to sell Lucasfilm to Disney.[2]
